As a kid I remember constantly getting angry and throwing my controller over this game, but there must have been some kind of magic inside that old 90’s cartridge because I kept returning to play! Nothing was more satisfying than failing a level a million times and then finally achieving the Jiggy (main collectables in the game) in the end. Banjo-Kazooie however respects the player’s intelligence and only helps out when needed (Ex: introducing a new power-up, instructions on a mini game etc.). Granted I have played and still sometimes enjoy Call of Duty. One reason I have come to appreciate games like this more is that they respected the intelligence of the player.ĭOES NOT RESPECT THE INTELLIGENCE OF THE PLAYER AT ALL.Ĭall of Duty assumes that you’re a helpless five-year-old that has just been potty trained.

Little did I know this would be one of the most enjoyable games that I would ever play. When I first played this game as a kid I had no clue what was in store for me. Gruntilda’s intentions are to steal Tooty’s beauty so she can stay young and beautiful forever. Banjo’s friend, Bottles the Mole fills him in on the incident while also teaching the player how to play the game.

In the first game, “Banjo-Kazooie” Banjo wakes up and discovers that his sister, Tooty has been kidnapped by the evil witch, Gruntilda. Banjo is a honey bear and Kazooie is a sarcastic bird that resides within Banjo’s backpack. It had 3-D GRAPHICS AND BLEW EVERYONES MINDS AWAY! While other kids played game such as, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Super Mario 64 I was being a little different while playing a game that only a few people had heard of.įor those of you that have never heard of this underrated game allow me to fill you in.

The Nintendo 64 was a system ahead of it’s time. If you were a kid that grew up in the 90’s like myself then you probably had the excellent Nintendo 64 (N64). The game is a little crazy and catered to children, but the other day I picked it up, put it in my Nintendo 64, and had an incredible time with it! The game is still a little challenging today and has a lot of replay value, so without further ado let’s begin! If not….then welcome!
